HostelBookers began in 2003 with a very simple idea – to provide customers with a way to book the best budget accommodation all over the world with absolutely no booking fees! It had never been done before, and independent travelers looking for budget accommodation had come to expect a booking fee as the norm.

But here at HostelBookers, we felt that our customers deserved better value. And so, buzzing with enthusiasm and new ideas, we set off to introduce the world to the first free hostels and budget accommodation booking website – which is exactly the way we, as travel enthusiasts ourselves, think it should be!

Since then, HostelBookers has gone from strength to strength and our team now has over 70 people! And as our business has grown, so has our offering; now, we have over 10,000 properties available in more than 2,500 locations worldwide. We also provide our customers with an ever-increasing range of accommodation, from camping, self catering apartments and guesthouses to hostels and budget hotels.

Although we're based in London, we are proud to say that we hail from all over the world and our friendly office is made up of nationalities from as far afield as the Philippines and Argentina! Every day we learn something new about the places we have visited or are yet to visit; and this makes what we do all that much more of an adventure.

By sharing this first–hand local knowledge, along with our years of experience in the travel industry, and combining this with our passion for travel, we can channel our ideas straight back into our work: All of which means we can honestly say that we love what we do!
